Born in Rottan Wali, Sadulsahar, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, Gurjinder Singh Gavy has emerged as one of the prominent voices connecting the Indian diaspora with its roots. Through years of grassroots work, student welfare initiatives, and social leadership in Australia and India, he has dedicated himself to creating opportunities for young people while fostering stronger relationships between overseas Indians and their homeland.

Today, Gurjinder Singh Gavy serves as the Chairman of the NRI & Overseas Congress Cell, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC). In this role, he works to strengthen engagement with Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), overseas students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and the global Rajasthani community.

His appointment reflects a growing emphasis on international outreach and stronger institutional ties between Rajasthan and its worldwide diaspora.

Alongside this responsibility, he is the National President of the Indian Overseas Youth Congress Australia (IOYCA), where he leads initiatives focused on youth leadership, democratic participation, cultural exchange, and community development among overseas Indians. Under his leadership, the organisation continues to encourage young members of the Indian diaspora to actively contribute to both their local communities and India's development.

He also serves as the President of Student Union India–Australia, an organisation dedicated to supporting international students through mentorship, accommodation guidance, employment assistance, welfare programmes, and community integration. Through this platform, thousands of students have received support while adapting to life abroad, making the organisation a trusted resource for the Indian student community in Australia.

Beyond these leadership roles, Gurjinder Singh Gavy has consistently championed causes related to education, multicultural harmony, social welfare, youth empowerment, and humanitarian service. His initiatives have included support for migrant families, community outreach programmes, volunteer-driven activities, and collaborations with public representatives and community organisations across Australia and India. These efforts have earned him recognition for his contribution to strengthening cross-border community engagement.
